In modern times, the monthly cycle is considered to be a hindrance to daily life. For many women, the hormonal changes the body goes through can lead to discomforts like cramps, fluid retention, lower back pain, heaviness in the body and mind, emotional ups and downs and so on. Not wanting to acknowledge the changes the body goes through or the pressures from the outside world or simply not knowing what to do can intensify these symptoms. This
has a direct influence on the symptoms during menopause as well. Ayurveda and Yoga can play a vital role in balancing the hormonal changes during these times. Simple dietary and lifestyle changes can alleviate these discomforts. Moreover, yoga can also play a very important role in balancing hormones since every pose has an effect on the internal organs and they in turn influence the hormones. Adapting and choosing the poses that support the
hormonal changes can lead to a much more balanced approach to a woman’s health.
